Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is among the most popular forms of cosmetic breast surgery. For those visiting our offices in Morris and Plainfield, breast augmentation is provided with both saline and silicone implants, each of which is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). For women who are not happy with the size or shape of their breasts, breast implants offer a safe means by which to achieve enhanced volume and a new, more pronounced bust line. Breast Lift

The breast list procedure, also known as mastopexy, is designed to lift a woman’s existing breast tissue to provide a firmer, younger looking appearance. As women age, breast tissue can lose its shape. Pregnancy and breast feeding, genetics, weight gain or loss, the aging process, and other factors can lead to a loss of skin elasticity and sagging breasts. Breast lift surgery at our practice serving Chicago, Plainfield, Naperville, and other areas, is sometimes used in conjunction with breast augmentation surgery for added cosmetic effect. However, this is many times not necessary. When a woman has sufficient breast tissue, bringing this tissue to a higher position typically provides more than satisfactory results. Our professionals will discuss your options, and the results you can expect, in detail.

At our state-of-the-art Plainfield surgery center, the breast lift procedure can be performed a number of different ways. Each method is designed to address a woman’s specific needs. That being said, each has certain things in common. In every breast lift surgery, after the creation of the necessary incisions, excess skin is removed, the nipples and skin are properly adjusted, and the skin in carefully sutured to bring the entire breast into a higher position. Breast Reduction

For women with very large breasts, life can sometime be painful. Whether experiencing back problems, painful bra strap grooves, self-consciousness, or any other potential effect overly large breasts may have on a woman’s physical and psychological well-being, breast reduction surgery can offer a solution. Through breast reduction surgery at our practice with offices in Morris and Plainfield serving the greater Chicago area, excess breast tissue can be removed to reshape the breasts, bring about a natural looking proportion, and improved quality of life. Breast reductions can be covered by insurance if the patient has met enough criteria. Breast reductions are performed in 2-3 hours as an outpatient procedure. Dr. Burt uses drains for 48 hours with a return to work anticipated in 1-2 weeks.

Male Breast Reduction

When a male develops excess breast tissue, self-consciousness or more serious psychological issues can be the result. Male breast tissue, technically known as gynecomastia, is fairly common. It can occur for a number of reasons, including as a result of medications, problems with testicular hormone production, steroid use, impaired liver function, and other factors. Male breast tissue typically develops in adolescence, adding to potential self-consciousness issues. Thankfully, male breast tissue can be removed. Male breast reduction surgery involves the removal of excess tissue and the tightening of surrounding skin. The result is a more masculine appearance. Male breast reduction is performed as a 1 hour outpatient procedure. Compression garments are typically worn for 2-4 weeks.

Breast Reconstruction

Through breast reconstruction, Drs. Burt and Will are proud to help reduce the impact of breast cancer and other diseases which might lead to the removal or breast tissue. After a mastectomy, breast reconstruction provides women with breasts that, in form and appearance, closely match natural breasts.
