Dermal Fillers: Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane, Belotero
Dermal fillers are natural agents found in the body and are used to help plump up lines in the face in an effort to soften and erase wrinkles and unsightly shadows. They are injected to add fullness and structure to areas of the face that have lost volume as a result of aging or weight fluctuation. Many of our patients experience the same benefits of facelift from treatment with dermal fillers, only at a lower cost and with less time commitment than surgery. This procedure, termed, “liquid facelift”, is easy, effective and can last for up to 18 months depending on which products are used. However, it’s important to note that the effects of dermal filler treatment are not permanent and should be repeated every few months to maintain the results.
Dermal Filler Uses
Here are the most common areas treated with facial fillers:
- Nasolabial folds
- Hollows of the cheeks
- Laugh lines
- Jowl area
- Marionette lines (around the corners of the mouth and chin)
- Sunken eyes
- Around the lower eyelids (tear troughs)
- Vertical neck bands
Treatment with Dermal Fillers
When administering dermal fillers, Drs. Burt and Will are careful to use the right amount of product to create noticeable yet natural-looking outcomes. With their in-depth understanding of facial anatomy, as well as years of experience, our team has a reputation for stellar results.
Drs. Burt and Will evaluate several factors before treatment with dermal fillers, including your skin’s tone and texture, your bone structure and your natural facial expressions (both still and animated).
The injections are not painful, but ice and specially formulated topical numbing gel are applied to the treatment area. The fillers we use also include lidocaine (at no additional cost) to minimize any discomfort. If you’re interested, we can provide a homeopathic kit to reduce post-treatment bruising and swelling.
Dermal filler treatment usually does not last more than 15 to 20 minutes. It’s not uncommon for our patients to go out and socialize with others on the same evening as treatment!
