Belotero is the newest hyaluronic acid-based filler for skin rejuvenation and provides immediate smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles. Using Belotero, Drs. Tripti Burt and Neena Will give your skin an airbrushed quality, leaving it polished and flawless. Other fillers, like Radiesse and Juvederm, are great for giving volume and lifting the skin, but our doctors have found that Belotero is best for delicate areas and superficial lines, which many of our patients struggle with.
Belotero is ideal to use around the vertical lip lines, the subtle creases of the smile lines around the cheeks, wrinkles around the corners of the mouth and the creases in the eye and forehead area. Because it is made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance, Belotero is an extremely safe product that very rarely causes adverse reactions.
What Happens During Treatment with Belotero?
Treatment with Belotero is very quick and convenient; you can even schedule an appointment for your lunch break!
Dr. Burt or Dr. Will will numb the treatment area with ice packs and a topical numbing agent to make your treatment more comfortable. (Unlike some of the other dermal fillers we use, Belotero does not contain lidocaine; however, we take precautions to ensure that treatment is not painful for you.) The doctors inject small amounts of Belotero into the treatment area with a fine-gauge needle. This should not take longer than 15 to 20 minutes.
Minor redness, swelling and bruising may occur after treatment, but are temporary side effects and should resolve on their own within a week.
You should start to see results almost immediately. Once injected, Belotero will plump your skin and smooth lines and wrinkles. Results vary by patient, but may last up to a year. We can schedule out reminders, if you like, so you can schedule regular treatments to maintain your results. If you do not continue treatments, your results will fade with time and your natural appearance will be restored.
