It can obscure the otherwise beautiful curves and contours of the face and body. Luckily, Drs. Burt and Will are equipped to treat the problem through laser skin tightening with Cutera’s Titan. The Titan can be used to treat loose, sagging skin on the body and face — including the forehead, cheeks, neck, jowls, abdomen and arms — without surgery, injections or recovery downtime.
How Does Laser Skin Tightening Work?
Cutera’s Titan laser is a pulsed light device. It emits safe infrared light to heat the dermis deep beneath the skin’s surface and is FDA approved for thermal heating of the skin. The heat triggers the body’s natural wound healing response, which causes changes in the skin’s collagen. The production of fresh collagen has a skin tightening effect.
During a laser skin tightening session, Drs. Burt and Will and/or one of our experienced laser technicians pass the Titan laser wand over the area to be treated. The wand emits a series of quick pulses, which penetrate the layers of skin while continuously keeping the surface cool. The heat from the laser repairs weak collagen fibers, and new collagen begins to develop.
The Titan not only keeps the surface of the skin cool during treatment, it also provides a more even distribution of energy than other sources (e.g., radiofrequency energy). The Titan can also be used safely on patients of any skin type or age.
Laser skin tightening with the Titan requires minimal recovery. In most cases, you can resume your normal activities immediately. The skin in the treatment area may be red or swollen after your procedure, but these side effects are only temporary.
Laser Skin Tightening Results
Treatment with the Titan yields almost-immediate results, but with time, the majority of the results will improve. Our team usually recommends one to two laser skin tightening treatments with Titan for optimal results. We anticipate that the results will last 5-8 years. This is a wonderful alternative to surgical facelifting and browlifting and is a commonly used treatment with fillers and Botox to help further lift and rejuvenate the face.
