Plastic Surgery Trends of 2015

With 2015 underway, certain plastic surgery procedures are already ahead of the pack in terms of popularity. At Burt & Will Plastic Surgery and Laser Centre, we keep up with the latest trends in our industry. Here are some of the most popular cosmetic procedures so far this year.

Buttock Augmentation

The public’s interest in having a larger, rounder and perkier posterior hasn’t waned since its boom last year. Women continue to want their rear end further enhanced by silicone implants or what’s known as a Brazilian Butt Lift, where fat is transferred from another area of the body and injected into the buttocks. Butt augmentation is used by women who are dissatisfied with their buttocks’ appearance, whether it’s flat, saggy or lacking in volume. And butt augmentation has the added benefit of making a woman’s thighs and hips look smaller and in better proportion to the rest of her body, creating the sought-after “hourglass” shape.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) has been on the rise since 2013 with increasingly steady growth. Eyelid surgery, or “eye lift,” removes fat or skin from the eyelids for a more youthful, lifted look. The upper or lower eyelids, or both, can be treated. Upper eyelid surgery fixes the droopy, or “hooded,” look of the upper eyelid. Lower eyelid surgery reduces puffiness or pillows that accumulate underneath the eyes due to aging. The two surgeries can be used alone or in conjunction to create a more refreshed, youthful appearance for the face.

BOTOX

Last year was a banner year for BOTOX injections, and so far the trend shows no signs of slowing. In fact, as we head further into 2015, there continues to be buzz about this age-buster known for diminishing the appearance of facial wrinkles — and the buzz is not just from women. The term “Brotox” was recently coined to describe the increasing number of men who are opting for this treatment. Studies have shown that for both sexes (but especially in reference to the “Brotox” phenomenon), a highly competitive job market has fueled their interest in this procedure. Since studies have shown that the younger, more virile-looking candidate often gets the job over their older counterpart, BOTOX is used by many to stay sharp in the corporate game.
